Yesterday, we talked about when to create your Street Team.

Today, let’s dive into what to do during that time line!

3 Months Out

Announce you’re building your Street Team — Share on social media, in your newsletter, and on your website.

Set up a simple application or interest form.

Google Forms is my go-to—it’s quick, easy, and free. (Need help creating one? I’ve got a template—just reach out!)

Start sharing early teasers to build hype.

Even if your book isn’t fully polished, this is the perfect time to tease it and start building excitement.

Finalize your team.

Aim for a mix of superfans, reviewers, bloggers, and creators. Personally, I love including newer voices—giving someone the chance to grow their platform creates incredible loyalty and energy.

Send a welcome email with expectations.

Let them know where to follow you, how they can support you, and when you’d love to see reviews come in.

Share sneak peeks, quote graphics, and engagement prompts.

This is the fun part! Creating content to share—and many Street Team members will enjoy making their own graphics, too.

Send out ARCs (digital or print).

I’ve used BookFunnel and had a great experience, but there are plenty of platforms out there!

Assign optional tasks.

Post dates, countdown graphics, review timelines—offering a simple schedule helps, especially for members supporting multiple authors.

Keep the excitement going!

Consider starting a private group or chat to build community and momentum.

Launch Week

Encourage reviews to go live.

Reminder: Amazon reviews can’t be posted until release day—so a friendly nudge afterward is always helpful.

Provide promo materials or sample captions.

Bonus content is a hit! Think deleted scenes or fun “Where are they now?” snippets about your characters.

Show your appreciation.

Share early news, offer exclusive content, or run a fun giveaway.

Everyone loves a little extra love!

My Final Tip

Have fun with it.

Building a Street Team is more than a marketing strategy—it’s a relationship-building experience.

I’ve met some of the best people in the bookish world through mine, and honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without them.
