Gareth is the author of the Of Imprint & Erasure series.
The Of Imprint & Erasure series is a paranormal thriller series that consists of three books – Imprints of the Past, Tethers of the Present, and Echoes of the Future.
Bibliobean Books : Tells us a little bit about these books.
Gareth : I wanted to explore alternative explanations for ghosts than the spirits of those who have “passed over”. I particularly wanted my characters to argue about those explanations as they try to deal with the phenomena and discover more about them. Can more than answer be correct?
Bibliobean Books : What inspired this series?
Gareth : I’ve mulled over the central premise for years. Then, when I read Ben Aaronovitch’s Rivers of London series – where London and its history is as much a character as the normal and magical people within the story – I decided I wanted to do something similar for my adopted hometown of St. Louis.
Many of the paranormal experiences in these books are drawn from real ghost stories.
Bibliobean Books : Spooky stuff.
Can you describe your writing vibes in three words?
Gareth : Mysterious. Inventive. Maddening.
Bibliobean Books : Give us a fun fact about your writing process.
Gareth : Half of my prose is written one handed with my laptop off to the side, because one of my cats has usurped my lap.
Bibliobean Books : We love a kitty writing companion!
What are you currently reading?
Gareth : I’m most of the way through the Dresden Files series, which is an interesting complement to Rivers of London!
Bibliobean Books : Do you have anything new that you are working on?
Gareth : I’m absorbing beta reader feedback into the final draft of the first novel (Truesilver) in a new series (The Chaos Walker Revolution).
It’s a dystopian blend of urban and epic fantasy set in a parallel world eerily similar to our own. Darker and more ambitious than my debut trilogy, I’m excited to share it with everyone sometime next spring!
Bibliobean Books : How exciting!
Do you have anything you’d like to say to your current readers?
Gareth : Never be coy about what you read or how you read it. I’ve read stories from many genres beyond my favorites, and in many formats. Every story is worth writing and reading.
